MAY 2009 ISSUE: The Proven Path to Success… This is what CRS is all about!

We are here to help you grow your business.  Your chapter gives you the opportunity to meet new people which is perfect for staying in touch with your colleagues for referrals and give you timely information so you can continue to be the Best of the Best!  So get involved with CRS.  Join our meetings and events.  It is all about learning, sharing your knowledge, experience and having a great time.

We hope you were able to attend our educational event: “Don’t Get Caught Short” and “Make Sure You Get Paid”,  held at the Pensacola Board of Realtors. Our guest speakers for the first half were:  Attorneys Kerry Anne Schultz and Jeff Surer.

Emphasis was on the short sale contract; time lines, earnest money, multiple offers and signed contracts vs offers.

This was not a class to tell you how to do short sales, but was geared around answering all of our questions regarding protecting our clients in this type of transaction as well as  learning exactly what the short sale contract really says.

The topic of the second half of this seminar was procuring cause lead by David Collins.  His main topic was commission disputes. He explained what we had to do to make sure we get paid in a transaction.  How important it is to tell to our customers how we work and our duties to them and their duties to us.  It was suggested that we keep a log of our time spent with each customer as well as our correspondences.  Abandonment by an agent was also discussed.  Mr. Collins.  He also touched on what kind of information we would need to provide a committee if we ever did need to file a complaint.

This class was very well received and attended by over 60 students.
